Day 1: Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen
Your Moroccan adventure begins as we greet you in Casablanca. Our first stop is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, an architectural marvel that sits majestically by the Atlantic Ocean. After exploring this iconic landmark, we journey north to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here, we'll visit the historic Kasbah of the Udayas with its charming blue and white streets, the impressive Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. In the afternoon, we continue our drive, venturing into the scenic Rif Mountains to reach the stunning blue city of Chefchaouen, where you'll settle in for the night.
Day 2: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes
Wake up in the serene "Blue Pearl" and spend the morning exploring its enchanting, blue-washed medina at your leisure. After soaking in the unique atmosphere, we depart for Fes. Our journey includes two major historical stops. First, we'll explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a remarkably preserved UNESCO World Heritage site. Next, we visit the imperial city of Meknes, where we'll admire the monumental Bab Mansour gate. We arrive in the cultural capital, Fes, in the evening, ready to check into your traditional riad.
Day 3: Fes Sightseeing Tour
Today is dedicated to a full-day guided exploration of Fes, one of the world's largest and oldest medieval cities. With a knowledgeable local guide, you'll navigate the labyrinthine alleys of the Fes el-Bali medina, visit the famous Chouara Tanneries, see the intricate tilework of the Al-Attarine Madrasa, and stand before the historic Al Karaouine University. You'll also explore the Royal Palace gate and the old Jewish quarter, immersing yourself in the city's vibrant history and culture.
Day 4: Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Merzouga
We leave the bustling city behind and journey south towards the Sahara. Our scenic drive takes us through the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a stop in Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco." We'll then travel through the cedar forests of Azrou, home to troops of Barbary macaques. After passing through Midelt and the breathtaking Ziz Valley with its vast palm groves, you'll see the landscape transform as we approach the edge of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga.
Day 5: Merzouga Desert Exploration & Camel Trek
Immerse yourself in the desert landscape today. We'll take a 4x4 adventure around the Erg Chebbi dunes, visiting the village of Khamlia to experience traditional Gnawa music and meeting local nomad families to learn about their way of life. In the late afternoon, you'll trade your 4x4 for a camel and embark on a memorable trek into the heart of the dunes. You'll witness a spectacular sunset from a high dune before arriving at your traditional Berber desert camp for a night of delicious food, music, and stargazing.
Day 6: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley
Wake up early to the stunning sight of a desert sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, we travel to Rissani and Erfoud. Our journey continues to the magnificent Todra Gorges, where you can take a walk between the towering 300-meter-high canyon walls. From there, we proceed to the beautiful Dades Valley, renowned for its dramatic rock formations, where we will spend the night.
Day 7: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Today we travel along the famous "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs." Our journey takes us to Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Africa," and then to the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site featured in many famous films. After exploring this ancient fortified village, we'll cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, arriving in the vibrant city of Marrakech in the evening.
Day 8: Full-Day Guided Tour in Marrakech
Discover the magic of the "Red City." Your local guide will lead you on a full-day tour of Marrakech's most famous landmarks, including the serene Majorelle Garden, the Koutoubia Tower, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the opulent Bahia Palace. You'll dive into the bustling energy of the souks and experience the incredible spectacle of storytellers, musicians, and food stalls in the famous Djemaa el-Fna square.
Day 9: Departure from Marrakech
Enjoy a final Moroccan breakfast at your riad. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute souvenir shopping or a final stroll through the medina. We will then transfer you to Marrakech-Menara Airport for your departure, bringing your unforgettable 9-day Moroccan adventure to a close.
