Arrive and be picked up from the port, airport, or accommodation in Tangier. Visit Cape Spartel and Hercules Caves, then transfer to Chefchaouen via the Tetouan and Rif mountains. Chefchaouen is one of Morocco’s most picturesque towns, a traditional Berber village. A tour of this blue and white village includes the famous square ‘Uta Hammam’ and the medina, as well as the waterfalls of ‘Ras El Ma’ and other attractions.
We will visit Chefchaouen, the blue city, after breakfast. Chefchaouen is known for its white and blue-painted buildings and alleyways. First, we’ll take a tour through its picturesque ancient Medina, which has a lot of lovely real blue doors and whitewashed walls. In the afternoon, you can hike to the Spanish mosque, located on a high elevation with a beautiful view of the entire blue city.
Feel free to explore the picturesque alleyways of Chefchaouen after breakfast. Then we drive to Volubilis, the old Roman remains, which have been well-preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We visit Meknes, known as the Ismaili capital, where we explore Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, Royal stable, granary, and Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Later, we continue to Fes for an overnight stay in a Riad.
Today is all about seeing Fes’s iconic monuments and sights. Explore the Al-Qarawiyyin University, Bou Inania Madrasa, the Jewish District, and the Andalusian potters. We’ll stop at the amazing tanneries, Souks, and Bab Boujloud. After lunch in the Medina, we’ll visit a viewpoint offering a panoramic view of the Medina. Return to your riad for the night.
We travel south through Ifrane and the cedar forest, home to the Barbary macaques. Then we head to Midelt for lunch, before crossing the Ziz Valley and Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass. We arrive in Merzouga, where you ride camels across the dunes to a desert camp. Enjoy a night under the stars with Berber drum music, dinner, and a campfire.
After a sunrise in the desert, enjoy a day exploring the Merzouga area, including sand dunes, wild lakes, caves, fossil areas, and beautiful oases. We’ll visit an old eyeliner mine and meet nomad families living in traditional tents. Return to Merzouga in the afternoon for a relaxing lunch and free time. You can try sandboarding or climb the dunes before sunset.
After breakfast, we depart from Merzouga to Todra Gorge, passing through Rissani and Erfoud. Walk through the stunning canyon carved by the Todra River. Later, we drive to Dades Valley, stopping in Tinghir and Boumalne Dades. Stay in a local hotel overlooking the valley.
We drive through the Valley of Roses to Ouarzazate, known for its film studios. Visit Kasbah Taourirt, then head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. Afterward, we cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains and reach Marrakech in the evening. Stay in a riad or hotel.
Visit Marrakech’s iconic landmarks, including Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, Majorelle Garden, and Djemaa el Fna square. Enjoy lunch in the medina and explore the souks. Optional Hammam and spa experience in the afternoon. Overnight in Marrakech.
Depending on your flight schedule, we’ll arrange transfer to the airport either in Marrakech or Casablanca. End of your 10-day Morocco desert tour with wonderful memories and unforgettable experiences. Safe travels!
On your last day, we explore Casablanca and Rabat, visiting the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca and the Royal Palace and Hassan Tower in Rabat before heading to the airport for departure.
